Brooch
Copper, brass.
This bodycon brooch was inspired by breastplates and molded to fit my own chest. When sketching I was designing a flowing, organic form and focused on contrast, wanting the design to stand out as a statement jewelry piece.

Before sawing my pieces, I iterated paper sketches and cut them to measure against myself for scale. After deciding on the base shape I contoured the top pieces to the shape of the base just as the piece is contoured to my body.
I annealed and hammer textured the base piece, then annealed it again before shaping it. After sawing the top pieces I annealed, shaped, and buffed them before riveting my pieces together.
