Graeb’s Sardines
Copper and brass.
Made while learning to sodder, my take on the sardine tin was designed to hold all sorts of small trinkets. I’ve found it holds wired headphones, necklaces, and cough drops particularly well.
I had a difficult time striking a balance between making the metal look tastefully weathered without it appearing dirty when applying the patina. The layering and etching also made this difficult, and if I were to craft a similar project I would take more care with the order of my steps and sanding.
